Beauty Starts Within
Updated: Jul 14, 2019
The older I get the more I realize how important it is to truly take care of your body. When I was younger I thought that meant just eating salad, thank God for growth. Lol Now I find myself packing multivitamins and supplements on the go or even when I’m going out of town. Recently I lost a lot of weight in a short amount of time and after feeling like my mind and body was out of whack I went to visit my primary care doctor. She brought it to my attention that when I lost 40 pounds in three months I lost hormones with the fat. Crazy right? Men and women can experience hormonal imbalances and if you are not eating a balanced diet and taking a multivitamin at the least you will have to learn to live with it. It could make your mind and body feel like a rollercoaster. I’ll share a few of my go to vitamins and supplements that have worked for me below! Remember beauty is from the inside out, take care of your body and it will take care of you back.
Your body naturally produces vitamin D when your skin is exposed to sunlight, sometimes skin complexion, dark clothes, age, little exposure to sunlight or protective clothing can limit the amount of vitamin D you receive. Your body must have vitamin D to absorb calcium and promote bone growth. (WebMD)
In addition to building bones and keeping them healthy, calcium enables our blood to clot, our muscles to contract, and our heart to beat. When we don’t get the calcium we need it is taken from our bones. Every day we lose calcium through our skin, nails, hair, sweat, urine and feces. Our body cannot make calcium.
